Oh, Helo.
Yu may have thought we had died. we haven't. im still here. we have some vinyl planned for spring release. you will just have to wait to see what it is. it looks like 2010 will show 4 releases from our fair label. we believe, at this juncture, that they will all be on vinyl, with accompany cd-r and the requisite andras book. more updates to come when they happen. we have made very few yellowcake sales, so, i would say that you should buy one. do it. i dare you. also, expect a new website, logo and ephemera shortly. This will be the last message until the relaunch. see you on the otherside...

Today is the day.
Yellowcake is now officially out. This is what you get if you choose to buy one.
~ a beautiful, matte slipsheet envelope. signed and numbered.
~ the new andras packaging standard: the andras flipbook, in CMYK, signed, numbered.
~ a 40+ minute cd with new material not yet heard outside limited journalists and friends, also in beautiful color.
~ a jewel case, to carry around the disc in. signed and numbered as well.
~ a 11"x17" trifold promotional print concerning the release of the album. signed and numbered.
~ interesting liner notes written by the brilliant owner of square root records, dan streeting and the impetuous bastard dathaniel nordheim. signed and numbered.

There is a limited edition of 30 of these. This is the first pressing. If demand is high, there will be a second string, however, printed material may be different.

Snaps of the packagaing is below.

You may find a few more goodies in there depending on where you purchase it. Its probably best through our etsy page.

nordheim speaking..
so we are fast approaching the re issue of yellowcake. we received a package a few days ago from sean with a not saying "by no means should this end up on the site. please adhere to the specified protocol!" i disregarded this as just a greeting and moved on. ill deal with him later. he mentioned that i was in a corner crying the other day. that wasn't true. that was his cat.

10/10/2009. (tenten-one)
im sitting in a
warehouse in new jersey, tied up with xlr cables and man telling me im no good and slapping me repeatedly. a svelte woman holding a cabbage just walked by and said, "where are you did, from and can you complain any less?" I asked what these things meant and if what was being said was grammatically correct in this moderne age. i started with the strapping to the chair. i was told by a tiny bald man in the shadows that it represented anything and everything he wanted it to be. "for what comes out of the shadows is true as the light of day." i was puzzled. we continued the debate, me tied to a chair, attacked by hair trimmers and a shadowy puppet from the follicle deficient.
transmission end./../////.

The Day is here, kind of.
So Today marks the release of Yellowcake. Well it used to be. It has been rescheduled to the 17th. Sorry to all of those waiting in the wings. However we want to get this right. We will see you then.

voice of concerns: not really.
schedules schedules schedules...
unfortunately, we have had some technical hiccups with our printers and will have to push back the reissue of yellowcake to the tuesday of november 3rd. don't worry. it should be better due to it. never rush. you always see your mistakes later… in the mean time why don't you download the original again and imagine how good the new one will sound… just a reminder: the ep has blossomed with 4 new tracks.
and there will only be 30 copies in the first run. super limited. thats what we are about here.

Hello all.
Yr Week in Andras...
The Yellowcake Edition is coming along. i think everyone will really like it.
We now have sealed the deal for what the next reissue will be after the next two. its no secret that those are the debut miracle baby and then slow gear. late december / early january will be the titular album. should be amazing. slow gear will be after that in around march or april. the one after that should be a real exploration. wow! I think you will all be amazed.
Its slowly becoming winter. our fall seems to have evaporated into freezing sniffles. oh well. terrible for children i guess.
Two theoretical physicists think that CERN is being thwarted from the future. look it up. amazing ideas...
I am also signed up as a beta for one of these machines. cross your fingers that we at andras get one of the 100 released for testing. http://www.teenageengineering.com/products/op-1/
also, saturday night in ann arbor is chuck sipperleys dj gig, permanent green light. i again, had the honor to create the print for the event. looky here.

Physical Release Scheme
So in a months time (give or take) the first Andras Reissue will be released to the public. People that have heard it have given good feedback and makes the whole idea of this seem worth it. It will also be the beginning of another update to the our physical format. same super quality, just another thing to add to it. ill comment more when its all put together. almost done.
We will be changing the site a little bit in the near future, nothing too drastic, just a bit more artistic honing. yeah, i said it.
Oh also, a few new things at our etsy store. click here or at the top next to the dontate button.

Hi to the U.K., Sweden, Russia, Germany and Australia (ill live there someday).

Etsy & Paypal Donations.
Hello. welcome back. well, today we decided we had had enough of being so limited on how you can give us money (at least we are being honest). anyway, at the top of the page, under our beautiful, ever evolving logo you can see two blue shades of text. one of them is an execution of an idea we had way back about being coming somewhat donation based. that doesnt mean discounts on records, favors, or hitmen duties, it just means that you like us enough to share the wealth. whatever that may mean. next to that, we have a linky to our etsy shoppe. new items will be added all the time. and some will be totally new, even to the most ardent andras fan. this kind of structures things out and should make our operations more streamlined. oh there are even a few exclusives on there. you can actually buy yellowcake through there right now, which doesnt even come out until late october. there are only 5 of those to be on there. pretty cool... 21 century stuff right there. thanks for putting up with us and our insane experiment we call a label.

Hi all, we just got back from a weekend of natural excitement. we went camping over the weekend in northern michigan where 10 miles of hiking was required. sore legs. in other news, miracle baby is in the planning stages of a new album, the anticipated ep by marcus hobbs trieste and xaiver york reginald is in the final stages of production and promos will be sent out within the coming week. its called verbal arrangements and land use planning. it is truly amazing to us here at andras. some of it was recorded all the way back in 2006. maybe even before andras began. hello to brazil, japan and india!
that reminds me....
Hello, we have created a small but powerful list of press that we send andras releases to. If you would like to be added to this list, please send an email to sean(attt)andrasklang.com with contact information. we seem to have a larger amount of people abroad check us out so dont hesitate..

canada vs. united states.

hello all, happy moon day. i wish i could of seen the original saturn 5 take off. so far, all i have been able to find is this.... oops!
south carolina was good. i mean it was productive. not really too much fun. got the new piece done though. 4 section piece, called "to iowa". you will hear more about it later.
eric was in town all of last week, it was a great visit. we jammed a bit. it was a bit phil lesh style, but fun nonetheless. we played in what is being called at this moment "polygon". it is an interesting space, huge spring reverb effect. working on a few things around here. again, not to be cryptic, something really great is on its way. a few things actually. some might include the word vinyl more than others.... hello japan!

so hott lava, last friday was a smashing success. 150 people attended and flight had its first theatrical showing. people seemed to like it, which made me quite happy. thanks to all of those that got out and pushed some units. we have prints still available and will cost you one left leg. now, where were we? oh yes. new studio. full space. all gear, all set up beautiful sound. like a reverb tank filled with oil. great sound. we are in the process of patching the board, so it will be a bit longer until recording can ensue. i look forward to sharing these new sounds with you all. im going to the carolinas for a conference for post doctoral ethnomusicologists, concerning the primordial, pre aboriginal djembe music of the sub-pan-asian group, "the wombats". see you next week.

They will be worth it. Ill be posting photos soon. look below for the 11x17 gatefold image, tying it all together. Dont worry though, we are still making new music over here, we just need something to do between computers crashing....

05/01/2009.
happy birthday.
last year, on this day, we informally released yellowcake. it was created as a birthday gift to kim and was fun to make. so i would like to announce now that we will start working on reissuing previous albums that we think are worth their salt in the new andras packaging. physical releases! yes, thats right! the artwork will finally be able to be presented in a way which the digital format couldnt. these will try to stick to as true to the originals as possible, the only difference is that they will all have additional musical material on them that we think represents them in todays context. the material might be brand new, remixes or outtakes that didnt make the cut, which contrary to popular belief, there is alot that is cut out.... these will start coming out in probably two months or so. they will be relatively inexpensive to the last release, flight, which was 20 dollars. these will probably be an edition of 20-30, as that number makes sense at the level we are at right now. people dont like to buy physical things these days, who would of figured?!

Flight has been reviewed.
the seminal music review site, textura has posted a very nice review of flight this morning. it is a very nice read and means alot to me that someone understood it and wrote about it.
"Despite the physical association of air travel and the psychological disorientation that accompanies that experience for some, Patrick's music more easily locates itself within inner experience..."
here is the link.
in other news, dan and i are off to california for a week to go record shopping, get messed up by the ms13. hopefully we avoid the latter.
p.s.. take a listen to the new track. hope you like it.

Wolves and that
helo, i had an enjoyable weekend in the south pacific with the sqr gang. it was crystal browns thesis show. it took place in an old factory with tin doors and ceiling weights to open them. it was a moving experience. i walked away quite impressed. crystal was kind enough to allow me to also get in on the action, by wearing one of her pieces during the performance. spectral mornings played well and amazed the rest of the sqr gang with the surplus of quality new material they amassed in a few short weeks. we also sat down saturday morning and had a meeting about how we were going to move forward with release schedules and such. very exciting times at the labels, i cant wait to share more.

pretty amazing urban experience last night.
someones car alarm malfunctioned during a heist or something, exacerbated by torrential rain, blared through the night mist for an hour. at first it sounded like me on a trumpet, it turned into a glenn branca concert. others making sure it wasnt their car by activating wireless remotes, naked, in their warm apartments. the police showed up, started towing the car and then the owner appeared from another car, to unlock it, unplug the battery then try to lock his beloved jeep by hitting the wireless remote. it did nothing. i gues he was expecting different results.

Thanks to all of those who have bought "Flight" so far. I dropped off about half of them last night on the west side last night. skinny ties and walking dance squads indeed. i got to dj for a bit too and it turned out quite well i think.
i had 2 decks and a cd player to layer with and that was fun. it ran something like this...

whale noises record...
gollywogs cakewalk : isso tomita
waters of nazareth : justice
w/ world war 2 reports layered over it
electric feel : mgmt
w/ whale noises and world war 2 over it
"the organist..." one of trevs library records.
w/ victory celebration soundtrack
e-musick : neu! (played at half speed)
pull pulk revolving doors : radiohead
samurai : kode9
w/ d-day reports over it
poison dart : the bug and warrior queen
w/ the organist over it
after eight : neu!
17 years : ratatat
with box studio 7 mixed in
owls and flowers : belbury poly
mixed with anton fell, off of the new album.
etcetcetc...

i miss doing things like that. i used to do stuff like that on my old radio show. mix music for films with hip hop instrumentals. people hated and i loved it. total catharsis.
as long as i see asses out on the dancefloor, as the old veterans say...

back from show...

well, a few days ago i got back from the spectral mornings show up state where i was asked to play guitar and document the show. i did and overall the show was fun. it was to benefit the 231 art gallery which provided spectral and i many opportunities to play when we lived up there. however, wankers burned it down and now they are trying to start from scratch, which i believe wont happen unless someone donates some serious money to the cause. hopefully they get it back together, it would only benefit society as a whole.... the boys performed great until 2 guys in ties (chad and i) started skwonking away on guitars and irritated the sound guy. the show itself was pretty bizarre, as spectral was grouped with 3 headbanging' metal bands from the area. curiously, they were also asked to play first after driving 450 miles each way. the show could of benefited from a bit more dynamism from other groups in the area. no offense to those that curated the show, just my opinion on how it could of been better..... i posted pics over at our flickr...

in other news, the flight cd/dvd promo copies are readying postboxes around the world. cant wait to see what people think of it. i am pretty proud of it. i think its grandioseness suits the 20th release type celebration.if you would like to be put on the list for press copies, promos, etc, notify me here....
